Masters degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Law
In 2018 Mr.Toolan enrolled for the Masters Course in Environmental and Natural Resources Law at University College Cork. Under the excellent joint tutelage and guidance of Professor Aine Ryall and Professor Owen McIntyre. Mr.Toolan was conferred with an LLM with distinction in Environmental Law in 2020 having delivered a dissertation on Climate Change Litigation.
On foot of a suggestion from him to the then, Deputy Director of the Law Society Mary Keane that the Society should have a dedicated Environmental Commitee a Task Force was set up of which Mr.Toolan was a member and he actively contributed to the Report recommending Formation of the Commitee. The Law Society inaugurated the Committee in 2023, of which he is now a sitting member.


Mr. Toolan is a member of the Irish Environmental Lawyers Association (IELA), and was an annual attendee of the Round Hall Environmental Conferences (now ceased ) and is a regular attendee of open conferences of the Irish Centre for European Law and PELGBA.
In addition to the above Gabriel was the Secretary to the Co. Leitrim Solicitors Bar Association for approximately 15 years. He has also sat on the Law Society’s Mental Health and Capacity Task Force for the past several years .
